Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting

A Project Steering Committee was held on October 23, 2007 at the Department
of Geology and Mines Conference hall to discuss on how to best utilize
the unspent budget of approximately US$ 59000.00 from the PDF-B activity
of the DGM-UNDP/GEF project on “Reduce climate change-induced risks
and vulnerabilities from glacial lake outbursts in the Punakha-Wangdi
and Chamkhar Valleys”.

Approved project activities:
- ALOS Satellite images covering major river basins in Bhutan, which
are the areas susceptible to GLOF, will be purchased as a part of the
PDF-B project.
- Community consultation has to be carried out by Disaster Management
Division, MoHCA and DGM as submitted in the proposal.
- Conduct third stakeholder meeting for the FSP consultant to present
the final FSP project document to the stakeholders
- Procurement of Video Camera and LCD projector to be done if the total
expenditure does not exceed the budget available
